Dear Church Family & Friends,
Jesus continues to answer our many prayers on Donna's behalf!
This week, Donna started taking the Temodar that I have spoken so much about. This is the chemotherapy that holds much promise. The side effects are fatigue and mild nausea. The first couple days Donna did not have much fatigue or nausea, however, as the week goes on, it seems to be catching up with her. However, these symptoms are nothing compared to what she was going through just 10 short weeks ago! Amazing!
Donna's protocol is to take a Zofran (anti-nausea medication) about 45 minutes to one hour before the Temodar. This way, just in case, she won't get nausea right after taking a Temodar. (And at about $400 a pill, we feel that we have a financial responsibility to Cigna!) Donna will complete this first 'round' on Friday evening. Then, she gets 23 days off of this therapy, then back to 5 days of Temodar, and so on.
Also, next Tuesday at 2:45 pm, Donna has her first follow up MRI. Since she has not had any symptoms, we are optimistic that this MRI will be clear. We'll just be in prayer over the situation. We meet with Donna's brain surgeon, Dr. Princewill Ehirim, on November 28th to discuss the MRI results.
Other than that, life is getting to be something of a routine around here, which is a good thing. The kids aren't even complaining too much about Dad's cooking!
The next Donna update will most likely be after we learn the results of the MRI. Till then, have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I know we will! We have so much to be thankful for this year!
In His Name, Service and Love,
Frank & Donna
