Dear Church Family & Friends,
CLEAR AGAIN!!!
The Lord continues to bless us abundantly and has given Donna another CLEAR MRI!
It was a welcome sight this morning to see Dr. Prince [Dr. Princewill Ehirim] tell us that there are no changes within Donna's MRI; he just smiles from ear to ear! I do not think that Donna or I will ever get used to seeing Dr. Prince smile and say 'there is nothing going on here'. Praise the Lord!
Donna had this past scan done last Wednesday with the reading and interpretation scheduled for this morning. We were blessed to be able to get out of town for a few days and go to Savannah, Georgia for the holiday weekend. We were able to relax and spend time with the family for which we are very thankful! Please do not ever take a family get away for granted - it is a blessing beyond measure!
I have shared in the past that we did not know how long Donna should be on the Temodar. As you may recall, there is no protocol for how long people should take Temodar. Several folks, including Dr. Lawson at Emory, shared that Donna should try to get at least 12 rounds of Temodar completed. Dr. Prince suggested this morning to continue to take the Temodar as long as Donna's blood counts continue to remain good.
While we do not know how long Donna will take the medication, we are still obtaining more information. I recently met Abby Auer via telephone who is the Marketing rep for Temodar in our area. Dr. Prince will be going to a Temodar conference in San Diego in October and he will be sharing with us some of the thinking on how long folks need to take Temodar. And of course, this is all a matter of prayer.
I would like to share a passage of scripture that has been coming to mind over the past few days. It is John 9:1-3, which reads:
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.
In the past, many folks, including us, have asked 'How could something like this happen to Donna?' Now that she is over a year out from her surgery we can see the answer more clearly - so that the work of God, through Christ can be see through Donna. This has been very humbling.
As always, we thank-you all for your continued prayers!
Our prayer request continues to be: 1.) The Lord's will and not ours to be done, 2.) for the next MRI in three months to be clear, 3.) for any side effects to be minimal, 4.) and for this tumor NEVER EVER to reappear!
Again, we thank-you all for your prayers, help and love that you have shown our family.
In His Name,
Frank & Donna
