Dear Church Family & Friends,
Yes, it's been awhile since the last Update, but I'm happy to say that Donna is still 'stumping the experts' by continually to do great.
She recently had a check up with her oncologist, Dr. Lyod here in Lawrenceville, GA. They did the usual blood work and made a pleasant discovery - her blood test results are basically the same as they were before she first got ill 15+ months ago. Keep in mind that she is still taking chemo every six weeks. At her appointment, Dr. Lyod, who is a strong Christian, just shook his head and said "It's the Lord, there is no other explanation for this." Like they say on the commercial, 'True, true.'
She has just completed her 11th round of chemo this past weekend. While it does make her fatigued, Donna seems to handle the chemo better with each cycle, which is another oddity when it comes to chemo treatments. Needless to say, we are just tickled with this progress. While it is difficult at times, we still do strive to cherish each day as we know that each day is a gift from the Lord.
Donna goes for her next MRI on December the 5th with an appointment with Dr. Prince on December 10th for the interpretation. While these MRIs are stressful, we do continually place our trust in the Lord with this whole situation.
Our prayer remains: 1.) For the Lord's will above our will, 2.) For the tumor NEVER EVER to reappear, 3.) For the next MRI to be clear, 4.) For Donna's side effects to disappear.
Our last request has changed recently. Donna & I were speaking recently about our request for her side effects to be minimized. As we discussed this, we felt that we were not showing the Lord enough faith, especially in light of all that He has done for us. Therefore, we opted to change our request from her having minimal side effects to no side effects! The scripture tells us that we have not because we do not ask. We have asked for all of these other things and He has always answered, so we figured that we would now ask for this. Actually we had changed this request a few weeks ago - before we got her recent blood test results! The Lord is SO GOOD!
Again, we thank you all for your prayers & love. It is hard to believe we are preparing to celebrate our Lord's birthday again. It seems that the events of last year were so long ago. We know that it is only because of your intercessory prayers and the Lord's grace & mercy that we celebrate His birth again. Thank-you!
We pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving & Christmas!
In His Name, Service & Love,
Frank
