Donna continues to do great! Praise the Lord!
Recently, Donna has begun to experience a higher degree of fatigue lately. While fatigue is something that comes and goes with cancer & chemo, it had gotten to the point where we felt that we needed to consult Dr. Loyd. Dr. Loyd is an oncologist in Lawrenceville that we found when we were visiting Emory. And thanx to Dr. Lawson at Emory for helping us find this Godly man!
We visited with Dr. Loyd about 45 minutes this morning. We discussed all that was going on, when the fatigue hits, when it is less, etc. After discussing everything, we felt that Donna should change her chemo cycles to every 6 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. Chemo has a tendency to build up in the body, and thus it can make you feel really lousy Donna was approaching this point. During the discussion, it became apparent that her fatigue was more related to the treatment than the surgery.
Aside from this ‘bump in the road’, Donna is doing great! When she is up to it, she has been walking up to two miles a day on the treadmill. She has been taking Thomas back & forth from school and has been back at her part time job at Shadowbrook.
Other than that, things are going well. We are planning to go to Gatlinburg for a long weekend next week with the kids.
Our prayer remains, and is constantly and continually being answered, 1.) For the Lord’s will to be done in Donna’s situation, 2.) For the tumor NEVER EVER come back within Donna’s body, 3.) For her side effects to be minimal from any of the treatments that she takes, and 4.) For her next MRI in the beginning of May to be clear.
Again, thank-you all for your prayers. It is so wonderful to share these ‘Donna Updates’ with not only great news about Donna, but to share how Christ is alive and working so much in Donna’s life and in the life of our family. Till the next update….
