Dear Friends and Family,

It's been awhile since the last update and several people have emailed me asking for an update, so here it is. Donna continues to be blessed abundantly in her recovery from her brain tumor and is doing GREAT!

It is hard to believe that on August 18, it will be two years since Donna's first seizure. It has been an amazing two years at our house. Our family has witnessed numerous miracles and blessings from both our Lord Jesus, and from you, the folks on the Donna Update list. God is VERY Good!

This two year mark has great meaning for Donna & I. When this journey began, we were not given much hope. Donna's surgeon told me when she was in the ICU at Gwinnett Medical that she had perhaps 3-6 months left. He said that the surgery would make her more comfortable with her remaining time. However, Donna's neurologist Dr. Schiff told me that if Donna could make it two years, the statistics suggest that her chances of survival increase greatly. I won't bore you with the details, but Donna & I have kept an eye on her two mark because of this.

So, what does one do when they make it two years after surgery for a Brain Tumor? You go on a cruise of course! Donna has wanted to go on a cruise for a long time, even before she became ill. So, we will be taking the plunge! (No pun intended - yeah, right!) We will be going to the Caribbean for seven nights with 3 other couples from our church in the beginning of September. I'm sure we'll be posting pictures on her web site after our return.

Donna recently agreed with her oncologist who suggested that Donna feels better now than in the months leading up to her diagnosis and surgery. Prior to her diagnosis, she was having dull headaches, but never anything that she gave a second thought about. She would not even classify them as a migraine type headache, they were just more of an annoyance.

I shared several months back that we started to pray for the Lord's will that He would take away all of the remaining side effects from Donna's surgery. For example, if she was fatigued or was under great stress, her right side would feel different. This has basically disappeared as it has only occurred once or twice in the last few months. Amazing!

Our prayer requests remain, as always, for 1.) The Lord's will, and not our will, be done, 2.) For the tumor NEVER EVER to re-appear, 3.) For the next MRI to be clear and 4.) For all of her side effects to disappear. Donna will be having her next MRI on August 27. While we do not expect any changes, we do take this concern to the Lord. We'll let you know the results when we get them.

If I could also ask that while you are in prayer for us, please remember the other Brain Tumor victims. We have heard from dozens of people through Donna's web site, and many of these people are in very poor health. Because of the location of their tumors, many have deficits that prohibit them from doing the things that they once did. Some cannot move as they once did, some have had personality changes. Many have passed away. Please remember these folks. Though we have never met these people face to face, they are very dear to Donna & I and our heart aches for them and their families. They have a special place in our hearts.

As always, we appreciate and covet your prayers. Thank-you all! Thank you Jesus!

In His Name, Service and Love,

Frank

PS - I you would like me to take your name off of this mailing list, please let me know. Also, if you want to be put on the list, I'll be happy to do that also.
