Dear Church Family & Friends,
It is hard to believe that we are coming up to the one year mark with Donna's surgery! August 28, 2000 is when Dr. Prince operated on her.
And what a year this has been! We have seen doctor's tell us that she would not survive - and with His grace, she has! We were told 'hopefully she'll move her right right side' - and with His grace she does! We were told that with enough therapy that she might be able to walk again - and with His grace she does! Philippians 4:13 reads: "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." He is true to His Word!
Words can never express our gratitude for the many prayers and acts of kindness that ya'll have shown our family of the past year. It has truly been an amazing blessing to be on the receiving end of love! We all thank-you!
In the meantime, Donna is still doing well. In our last email, we shared that we were struggling with how long Donna needed to take the Temodar Chemotherapy. Several of you, including Dr. Lawson from Emory wrote back and suggested that Donna should try to get 12 cycles in. Since then, it seems anytime Donna starts thinking about stopping, we'll get another email with someone telling us that she needs to go for 12 rounds. OK, she'll take the 12! Will she continue after that? We don't know - we'll wait for the Lord's leadership with that.
This week is a chemo week for Donna - and she is doing OK with it. Not too many side effects. Donna's next MRI is scheduled for Wednesday, August 29. After that, we will get away for the Labor Day weekend and then we meet with Dr. Prince on September 4 for the MRI to be read. As always, our prayer requests remain - 1.) For the Lord's will in this situation, 2.) For this next MRI to be clear, 3.) For all side effects to remain minimal, 4.) For the tumor NEVER EVER to reappear within her body.
We will let you know the results of her MRI when we get them.
Again, thank-you all for your prayers and love!
In His Name, Service & Love,
Frank & Donna
