Brain Tumor Survivor Glioblastoma Multiforme astrocytoma grade IV

On August 18, 2000, Donna was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM).
This is an aggressive form of brain cancer, which is also known as Astrocytoma Grade IV.

When Donna first became ill, I went to our Church Family & Friends to pray on her behalf. In order to reach many people quickly, I made our requests known via Emails. These Emails quickly became known as the "Donna Update". You can read them all in the order that I sent them in this section. I will continue to post these as I send them out.

One of the primary reasons that we have posted this page is to let you know that there is hope for those who have been diagnosed with this disease! When we first learned that Donna had Glioblastoma Multiforme, needless to say, we were very ignorant on the subject of brain cancer. When you are suddenly faced with cancer, especially an aggressive form of the disease like GBM, you look for any positive news that you can come by. We began to search the Internet for information about GBM. While we quickly learned that this is a deadly disease with a high mortality rate, we also learned that there are folks who can survive GBM! The purpose of this page is twofold. First, we want to share with you that there is hope if you or a loved one has GBM. We also want to share with you that this hope is found in our Dear Lord Jesus Christ. Since August 2000, we have witnessed numerous miracles. This page will document and share most of them.

Donna is now being treated at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Clinic at Duke University. If you have a brain tumor, we would highly recommend you contact them. Please click this link for their website.
